Simplified Trade System (STS) reforms aim to deliver a simpler, more effective and sustainable cross-border trade environment that will ensure Australia remains a globally competitive trading nation. Business is at the centre of these reforms.

The STS reforms are designed to roll out progressive benefits for business and government. As we design these regulatory, digital and data reforms, we welcome your input to shape the future of our cross-border trade environment.

Your feedback will guide and deepen our areas of focus in developing reforms to deliver a simpler cross-border trade environment and identify benefits of potential reforms to businesses. Feedback will also enable us to understand potential challenges and risks for businesses when implementing these reforms and how best to mitigate them.

For the 2024 public consultation we are seeking views on 3 draft frameworks:

  1. Trade Identity Policy Framework
  2. Fit and Proper Person Assessments Reform
  3. Border Controls Policy Framework

You can choose to respond to specific frameworks within the paper or provide a comprehensive response to the full paper.
